How is the food organized? Is there food and drink, and is it similar to European standards?
At KRIA Centro, you will be provided with three meals a day. The food is akin to a diet and focuses on soups, rice, and fish.
What about food intolerances?
Vegan or vegetarian diets are very feasible in Peru and at KRIA Centro. Gluten-free grains are rare; Peru is only at European levels of alternative diets in major cities. However, rice and potatoes are always available as alternatives to bread.
How are the accommodations equipped?
With everything you need to get healthy: space, tranquility, healthy food, and time.
Are the transfer services organized, or do I need to arrange them myself?
The final document before departure includes all the information about your arrival and describes what you need to do.
Is there a translator on site or German-speaking staff?
Remo will always be on site and able to translate. Generally, the locals speak Spanish, not English or German.
How much money should I bring?
We recommend about €250 per week.
How and where can I exchange money?
In Pucallpa, you can exchange cash. However, it is not necessary as there is an ATM in Contamana where you can withdraw cash with European credit cards. Tip: inform your credit card company that you will be in Peru.
Do I need a passport?
Yes, a passport is required for Peru and must be valid for at least 6 months.
How is the phone connection and network in Peru?
In Peru, you need to purchase a local SIM card and load data. However, there are often restaurants or hotels with Wi-Fi. You can also go online through a hotspot provided by us. We generally recommend a media detox during your stay at KRIA Centro.


Is there medical care available on site?
We can provide alternative medical care for all accidents or injuries.
What insurance is necessary?
We generally recommend trip cancellation insurance as well as international health insurance (which is typically included in most German insurance policies).
What vaccinations are required and when before arrival?
The decision to get vaccinated and against which diseases is entirely up to you.
What is the time difference in Peru?
In winter, -6 hours; in summer, -7 hours.
How long should one stay at KRIA Centro (recommended minimum/maximum stay)?
We recommend a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 14 days at KRIA Centro (plus approximately 4 days for travel to and from the center).
How much money should I plan for the trip, including all transfers and flights?
The flight (round trip to Germany) costs between €700-1200 depending on the season (February-May is cheaper than June-October).
The flight (round trip Lima-Pucallpa) costs between €40-90.
The transfer by motokar between Pucallpa airport and the hostel costs about €2 per ride.
The boat trip from Pucallpa to Contamana costs between €20-30 per ride.
What is the climate like in Peru?
The climate in Peru is divided into three zones: coastal region (Costa), Andean region (Sierra), and rainforest (Selva). The seasons in Peru are divided into dry and rainy seasons. The dry season occurs during the Peruvian winter from April to September. Generally, there is high humidity around our Centro, and rain can occur at any time of year.
